Ari Vatanen’s career as an active rally driver stretched over four decades. He not only took part in rallies, but also in rally raids, the occasional sprint, hillclimb or even race.

In most cases the nature or status of the event has been briefly described: WRC stands for World Rally Championship, ERC for European Rally Championship, BRC for British Rally Championship and ETCC for European Touring Car Championship.

All of Ari’s entries did not produce a clear-cut result or even retirement: dq is used to signify disqualification, wdw withdrawal and sf means he reached semi-finals.

Some rallies travelled across several countries and in those cases the national flags signify the location of both the start and the finish.
